Audi Q2 Review
If you’re looking to upgrade your current car to an Audi Q2, why not sell your old car to us?
The Audi Q2 is the newest and smallest addition to the ‘Q’ family. It’s essentially an SUV for the city and aimed at the younger buyers in the market.
In terms of dimensions, it’s 200mm shorter than a Q3 and 130mm shorter than an A3 Sportback. It’s slightly taller and wider than a five door A3 too. The Q2 is the first example of the even numbered Q models that will soon be gracing our roads. They’ll have coupe-like styling and sit offer a more dynamic driving experience than their odd-numbered equivalent. The Q2 sits on the well-used MQB platform that’s seen in everything from the VW Golf to Skoda Kodiaq.
From launch you can have a 113bhp three-cylinder 1.0 TFSI or a 148bhp 1.4 TFSI, plus 113bhp 1.6 and 148bhp 2.0 TDI engines. Next year a quattro-only 187bhp 2.0 TFSI will be introduced, while there’s a choice of six-speed manual and seven speed S tronic gearboxes. The SQ2 is Audi’s sportiest option, pumping out 300bhp for a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds. The 1.4 option provides decent performance whilst also offering decent MPG; little wonder it’s such a popular used car.
Leg room in the rear is equal to that of a well-packaged modern supermini, meaning that you’ll get an average-sized adult behind an average-sized adult, and because the roofline is modestly higher than in a hatchback, there’s the impression of greater space once seated. Upfront everything is typical Audi, plenty of plush materials and an intuitive infotainment system make the Audi stand out against similar used cars. The manufacturer suggests there’s only a 15-litre capacity difference between the Q2 and Q3 in the boot. At 405 litres, the crossover is rated as marginally more spacious than the A3 Sportback with the seats up.
